Electric Junk takes a fresh & upbeat turn from Orphan Train's previous folk-rock inspired sound.
Originally the songs were designed as an ode to the simple 3 minute romantic pop songs of the early 60's.... love songs inspired by Aram's recent marriage (Love She Blooms, Be in my Dream) and the birth
of his child (Snow Day).

Aram's reborn passion for electric guitar shines on Electric Junk. Upon
moving to the Northwest he took up guitar duties in such Portland bands as The James Low Western Front, Lincoln's Beardas as well as his wife Sarah's country-dream-pop outfit Ladytown.

From this electric guitar/pop framework, Aram expanded the songs to include experiments with hard edged electronica (Fixer Upper, Micks Set Ashore) that he had been experimenting with as a tool in scoring for television (he created a vast catalog of techno & house music for ESPN). Fitting, as the Electric Junk songs began to reflect Aram's fascination of a world rapidly changing in the digital age (We Used to Talk, Digital Tears).

Electric Junkwas performed and recorded entirely by Aram (once again performing as Orphan Train) at his Kingsley Garden Studio in Vancouver, WA (USA), where he has produced dozens of Portland area singer-songwriters. Ladytown makes a hauntingly beautiful guest vocal
appearance on Be My Blue, a portrait of an Iraq war vet returning home. Acclaimed Portland songwriter Nick Peets collaborated on the fun and upbeat True Love Return.

Ultimately Electric Junk fulfills its promise to be a FUN record best played, in it's entirety... very loud at the
School Dance.
