Bluefish 04:01
Sew some buttons on the shirt that she gave you years ago keep it in a box in a secret place Wash it by hand like some spirit guided ritual Think about her for a while and put it away Keep all your photographs in a place where you never open 'em keep 'em with your seven big mistakes Bottle up your emotions, they're only your emotions You'll get back to them, gonna sift through them someday If you can catch the bluefish runnin through the season runnin through the morning, runnin through low tide If you can call me on the telephone occasionally and remind me that what's yours was never mine So fire up the main sails, set a course that you should of set long ago with a destination warm and south Catch the wind, crank the rudder through the water till you reach the ocean through the river's mouth And on the shoreline are the houses from your dream they've all been painted with one thousand coats of grey And you see her standing on the beach in her winter coat with the ghost of Job and she's throwin sticks of driftwood to the waves If you can catch the bluefish runnin through the season runnin through the morning, runnin through low tide If you can call me on the telephone occasionally and remind me that what's yours was never mine

Dogs 03:29
You contradict all the shit you say about the boys that come around to play. Its hard to hear you complain. Oh no my love, you're surrounded by dogs All of my love will mace them away Hold on my love, here I come Hold on my love, here I come You show no respect for a friendship that's been long And you don't deserve someone like me maybe I was wrong to have believed you were a healthy seed planted in my heart when I can't feel you growing anymore Oh no my love, you're surrounded by dogs All of my love will mace them away Hold on my love, here I come Hold on my love. You cut the cord before we were even born. You cut me off in the middle of my truest words Oh no my love, you're surrounded by dogs All of my love will mace them away Hold on my love, here I come Hold on my love, here I come

Serendipity 04:24
She sleeps on the bank of the Merrimac River Thirteen angels weave a pattern in her hair Serendipity Dress shed like old skin and abandoned forever She bathes in the honey sun warmed river Serendipity She waits for a man that will be her better He walks and speaks a lot like her father She knows she needs to ask for a little more attention She breathes in deep and he is already there Serendipity

I can't remember your name but I remember you were beautiful and Autumn leaves fell soft and wonderful as we walked through Moseley Pines I can't remember your name Even though I used to live with you You were the kindest soul I ever knew You left me floating in the sky Why couldn't I ever lie and say that I've been pining for you Why couldn't I ever cry when I was closing doors upon you Why couldn't I ear lie and say I might be coming home to be with you I can't remember your name But it felt like I was home again You are my longest and most faithful friend How did I let you slip my mind I can't remember your name but I remember you were beautiful And I must seem kind of pitiful I can't remember your name

Its a long way to Rockland and you won't make the time Time to set your clock back lookin to unwind You remember her old bathrobe in the back seat of your car you were goin to California, wishin on a star You take the back roads cause they don't all look the same And the sun don't shine on the bigger highway Well you'll soon be turnin forty and you're countin down the days three days to make your mind up, four days to decide Time for cryin in the bathroom, time for cryin on the phone Cryin to your mother, tryin hard to hide You take the back roads cause they don't all look the same And the sun don't shine on the bigger highway Its been a long and dry vacation and its comin to a close Time to search the attic for your warmer clothes You got your long and pretty red hair its all tied up in a bow Got no pockets on your old leaf raking coat You take the back roads cause they don't all look the same And the sun don't shine You take the back roads all the way to Portland, Maine And the sun don't shine on the bigger highway

My family, painted up like roses my destiny is in a circus Sharing to the walls again not a word reflected back to me And you call yourself my best friend Is this your best Did you give it your best Did you give it your all Here's proof you aint no better than the rest I still adore you even if this is your best My family, made up of rocket heroes my symphony, four notes on my piano Dare I crawl out on a limb spilling out my guts again Who cares if I'm embarrassed who really gives a shit Did you give it your best Did you give it your all Here's proof you aint no better than the rest I still adore you even if this is your best I am not angry, no need for weeping The kitchen just needs sweeping I think I can handle that The hallway just needs dusting I think I can handle that I think I can handle that

Michelangelo 04:29
All of my friends have surrounded themselves within clouds colored greenish and grey I bend over backwards to make them feel better I feel my strength slipping away And all of my dreaming must come to an end Walked into her room and gave her a hug I noticed the sculpture she'd made Open my mouth try to share of myself but I can't think of nothing to say And all of my dreaming must come to an end Slow down Michelangelo, slow down Slow down Michelangelo, slow down Set her down gently you ain't losin' no ground Slow down Michelangelo, slow down Filled up my notebook with L.A. appointments instead of my musical words Digging for money and a girl and a family a year passed no better no worse And all of my dreaming must come to an end Slow down Michelangelo, slow down Slow down Michelangelo, slow down Set her down gently you ain't losin' no ground Slow down Michelangelo, slow down

November 02:55
Might call some old friends maybe I'd feel better And I wish it were a little colder so I could light the heater The first rain of November in sunny California I want to call my girlfriend need to write a letter I need to find my red wool sweater I wanted something better The first rain of November in sunny California Left my sisters and my brothers didn't bother to tell the others I slipped outside ashamed into a brandy fog It was raining down in Ipswich I was hoping for some distance And I don't need no doctor just to figure my resistance I was just thinking of the love I was afraid to ask for And I can hear that fear come knockin' down my back door So what ever came of it Are you ashamed of it It all seems the same to get caught up in Los Angeles Its a good way to remember The first rain of November in sunny California

You were on the money when you said I'm a one eyed Jack You don't miss me comin' round but you can never have me back Rollin through Atlanta on a boulder in the shape of a bad vibe Touch down, get me off, quick get me safe inside Blackberry Winter is rollin' from Alabama Blackberry Winter It's cold here in Atlanta Somewhere in the desert is a snake they call The Desert Storm She travels with her family, they like it where the sand is warm Funk junkie slipped away down into a fissure hole God give us an earthquake, something to be grindin' her bones Blackberry Winter is rollin' from Alabama Blackberry Winter It's cold here in Atlanta Aram-piano Steve Refling- guitar Matt Fitzell- bass Scott McPhereson-drums Chandra Watson- vocals Leigh Watson- vocals Franco and Aram - the clap

All night on a train, speeding through the grey indifferent to the way I'm traveling away, traveling away She left me in Virginia to smell the rotten leaves I might get a job shipbuilding down around Virginia Beach I scream when I'm way down here but you can't hear me I'm a ghost on a morning with no sun rising And I can't believe any of my friends are even wondering where I am sleeping, where I am sleeping, where I am I guess I am outnumbered, guess you need me more than I need me, the West it keeps on calling A hundred million voices on machines I scream when I'm way down here but you can't hear me I'm a ghost on a morning with no sun rising And I can't believe any of my friends are even wondering where I am sleeping, where I am sleeping, where I am Your sister looks so lovely, hair cut like the roaring eighties Wears a different kind of sunburn cause the sky here's always hazy And I know I might find some friends soon I don't want to go home

Hey Dave 03:35
Hey Dave, where you been, how's your life Its nice to see you again But it's a little awkward running into you I swear I was just asking what is Dave up to You shot the woman I love, left her for dead Emptied out her savings down at the A.T.M. Hey Dave I've been mad at you but I miss the way you smile Everybody still loves you Everybody holds on to a piece of your heart Everybody forgives you and wishes you peace of heart Hey Dave I understand how at times she makes you feel less than a man Hey Dave I'm quite aware how she talks at you as if you were not even there I don't know what keeps me around I would miss the way she smiles Everybody still loves you Everybody holds on to a piece of your heart Everybody forgives you and wishes you piece of heart "Hey Dave" is all I can say, heard you got a job at a hotel down in Playa del Rey or hey Dave was it a discount tire store

Like ghosts in a season, I recognize with happiness The Fall leaves were falling, come suffocate the sadness and Wendy is driving her Volvo with no taillights and comin' on over for company The end of the Summer has fallen upon us Again like the poetry in paintings and novels It's everybody's birthday and a time for remembrance So lets have a party tonight Indian Summer is not what it ought to be When the colors on the Palm trees don't change And instead of a cool air it's a hundred and five degrees and I'm a plane ride from the Topsfield Faire So come down again, come down into Winter Come around again, come around and tell tales Believe her when she says we all miss you I guess I'm just lonely and feeling my history Through photographs and words said and technicolor memories I've wanted your love goin' on twenty years now and look who I'm living with instead Now I'm waiting for the night time to come around again so I can get back into bed Indian Summer is not what it ought to be When the color on the Palm trees don't change And instead of a cool air it's a hundred and five degrees and I'm a plane ride from the Topsfield Faire Indian Summer is a book I read ten years ago When you were almost my wife Oh I'll follow your shoe-prints to heaven and back again And I will love you for the rest of my life

about

On Ghosts In A Season, produced by analog-enthusiast Steve Refling, we hear the early influences that inspired Aram's writing (Beatles, Elton John, and Jackson Brown). The critics raved. The album’s Bigger Highway was supported heavily by college radio. Two tracks were picked up for the DVD release of Party of Five's first season. Two others were featured in the ABC Family drama "Beautiful People". Aram toured the album extensively in 2001-2002 both solo and with the dynamic Aram Band.
